Experiment Station to Investigate the Behaviour of the "W Type Solar Charge Station"

Project No 2001 MUHYL 09

Project Term 1 year

The main purpose of this project is to set-up an experiment station which will investigate the behaviour of a portable "Solar Charge Station" that charges the automobiles and busses which work at the city centres.

Acid rains, aerosoles, green house effect, smog and the holes in the ozone layer are the main reasons for the air pollution in the big cities. In this cities, due to the increase of population, the number of internal combustion engine vehicles increase. For minimizing the air pollution, the vehicles powered by electrical means can be a solution, but the demand for electrical energy should be expected. If this energy is taken from the present interconnected systems, new power plants will be required. If this plants work with fossil fuels, just the place of the emmisions will be changed. Electricity production using fossil fuels has an efficiency between 30-40%. Thinking the areas that fossil fuels are used (polymer technologies, civil engineering etc.) burning it, is prodigality.

The air pollution that we are facing is a major problem nowadays. Therefore, electricity used for the vehicles must be supplied from renewable energy sources. To realize this, generators and solar charge stations are required.

The points to be attentive during the development of a solar charge station can be listed as follows:

  • Most possible, simplest construction for collecting the most possible, highest solar energy in a year.
  • A standardized and easily manufactured station must be constructed and mounted by a simple guide.
  • Must be easily mounted on the garage roofs of the villa type houses or the houses on a row.
