The Energy Engineering (EE) MSc. Program, established in 1997, is a multi-disciplinary program dedicated to enhancing energy literacy and deepening multi-disciplinary energy knowledge, particularly among the leaders of tomorrow’s science and technology communities.

The EE Program at IYTE fosters collaboration among industry, government, academia, non-governmental organizations, and the public to address the technological, economic and social aspects of sustainable energy development and use.

It serves as a focal point for energy activities throughout the Institute. In addition, EE Program brings together collaborating faculty and staff in 18 departments to carry out multi-disciplinary research that leads to holistic assessment of problems and solution options in meeting demand for energy and resource production and use. There is a strong focus on engineering and science based activities in key technology, modelling and monitoring areas.

EE strives to contribute to improvement of environmental decision making at all levels through better application of scientific and technological knowledge. In partnership with industry, government and civil society, EE carries out research for the implementation of practical effective solutions.

MISSION

The mission of the Energy Engineering Programme is to make significant contributions to energy including the improvement of technologies, structures, and policies that will lead to cleaner, more effective, efficient, and equitable products and processes. In order to advance this aim, we have identified four goals:

·        Carry out multidisciplinary research that leads to holistic assessment of problems and of solution options in meeting demand for energy and resource production and use

·        Serve as a platform for IZTECH-wide integrative research on energy

·        Inform decision-making in public and private sectors
