CS 101  Basic Information Technology Course Webpage

Catalog Description :

Introduction to computer technology, hardware, software and other terminology. File Compression. Primary operating systems, namely DOS and Windows. Word processing. Database. Graphics and scientific visualization. Presentation software. Computer networks, the Internet and ways of utilizing the Internet. Use of common TCP/IP Protocols such as e-mail, telnet, http and ftp. Search Engines. Introductory programming in HTML and Java.

Course Objectives :

This course is designed to provide the students fundamental computer literacy level knowledge with an emphasis on developing basis for engineering applications via computer. Any student completed the course successfully will have an intermediate level computer operator and a beginners level web site designer experience.
