ME 213 Computer Aided Engineering Drawing II Course Webpage

Description :

Dimesioning and tolerances, Surface quality. Assembly drawings... Screw threads, threaded fasteners, keys, splined shafts. In this course AutoCad R14 package is used as a tool in  advanced level.

Course Objectives :

The course is designed to give second year mechanical engineering students more information on engineering drawing and to make students familiar with the drawings of standard features used in mechanical engineering. Students are required to have hands on experience by doing hand-done instrument drawings and to learn to use a CAD package.

Prerequisites :

ME 112 is  recommended.

Syllabus :

1.      Dimensioning (1 week)

2.      Tolerancing and surface quality (1 week)

3.      Fasteners; threaded fasteners, keys, springs, rivet, welding  (2 weeks)

4.      Working Drawings; assembly  and detail drawings (2 weeks)

5.      CAD studies on 1, 2, 3, 4. (6 weeks)

Homeworks, Quizzes, Projects:

Students are required to draw all assignments with hand-held instruments at the first part of the course ( first six weeks).

Computer Usage:

Students are required to draw course work studies using AutaCad R14  in the CAD laboratory at the second part of the course ( after sixth weeks).
