Graduate Program Master of Science in Food Engineering Doctor of Philosophy in Food Engineering
Doctor of Philosophy in Food Engineering Applicants of Ph.D. programme in Food Engineering must hold a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Science. The required course load is 21 in ÝYTE credit hours for students with MS degree and 42 in ÝYTE credit hours for students with B.S. degree. Continuous registration is required of all Ph.D. students until the thesis is approved unless special permission from the Graduate School of Engineering and Sciences is obtained.
Students with BS degree in programme other than Food Engineering have to take additional undergraduate courses such as Mathematics, Microbiology and Chemistry offered in related departments (depending on students background with the consent of department/supervisor).

*This course must be taken by Ph.D. students accepted with B.S. degree until the beginning of their 6th semester. **If these courses are taken during MS education, there is no obligation to register these courses during Ph.D. education.
Once students determine their thesis topic, they have to register for the FE 500 course and thesis supervisor’s 800 and 900 courses, the code of which changes with faculty member.
